    In my reaction which follows, I remind Ms Ellen that 1938 was the year both

    Dr Janet McCredie argues on p. xi of her book,
    ‘Beyond Thalidomide – Birth Defects Explained’,
    (Royal Society of Medicine Press Ltd, 2007)
    that in the US, the FDA’s Frances Kelsey refused to license the drug, thereby saving the American population from the thalidomide catastrophe.

    Dr Mary J. Ruwart adds that the FDA physician who had delayed thalidomide’s approval was given a Presidential award.

    Theodore (Princeton, WV, USA) said last week that thalidomide was known in the US in the same year 1938 that laws were passed in the US demanding that each manufacturer obtain an FDA-license before selling each drug.

    Thalidomide was only marketed in Britain 20 years later.

    in Duitsland en het Verenigd-Koninkrijk een uitkering van de overheid.
    De betogers volgende week voor de Duitse ambassade in Londen willen de bedragen daarvan

    Ter herinnering, ik werd geboren in 1962.

    Gruenenthal beweert dat zij thalidomide pas in 1953 of 1954 heeft uitgevonden.

    Theodore blijft er dit weeki-einde bij dat:

    Thalidomide was definitely known in the year 1938 and uts defects were noted in Phoenix, AZ (USA) in a medical journal that year. It was known as a cure for Hanson’s Disease and made by Richasrd-Merrill Co. in Concinna ti, OH (USA). I don’t know what action was taken, but a young female doctor named Frances Oldham Kersey (or Kelsey) recognized its dangers.

    Die Kelsey is die madam van de Food, Drugs and Cosmetics Administration (FDA) die door Kennedy bekroond werd. omdat zij de VS van A van thalidomide bespaard had.

    Zonder libertarisme was ik er inderdaad nooit gekomen.

Die Grundsatzentscheidung war Ende Februar auf der Fraktionsklausur in Bonn gefallen, gestern berieten die Fraktionen in Berlin darüber. Morgen befasst sich der Bundestag in erster Lesung mit der Vorlage. Dem jetzt vorliegenden Gesetzentwurf zufolge liegt die bislang niedrigste Rente bei 121 Euro im Monat. Die bisher höchste Rente beträgt 545 Euro monatlich.
