Ron Paul Kansen 2.

Bij de Republikeinse voorverkiezingen om hun presidentskandidaat te kiezen zijn nu praktisch nog alleen in de running Mitt Romney en Ron Paul. Kijkend naar het totaal aantal stemmen, heeft Ron Paul helemaal geen kans bij de eindstemming op de “National Convention”. Maar toch is er een kans over, en dat komt doordat Ron Paul zoveel “delegates” heeft gewonnen, die dat nog kunnen beïnvloeden.

Hier een stukje om te trachten deze hoop te verduidelijken.

Daarin meer over de delegates, maar ook hoe de volgende fase  in de politiek zich begint te ontplooien voor de kansen die Rand Paul (zoon van Ron)  heeft in de verkiezingen voor 2016.

Regarding delegates, there are only party rules, and each party has its own rules. The Republican Party is entirely grassroots.  Each local county (of which there are many within each state) has its own Republican Party Central Committee.  The county committees are the bedrock of the Republican Party. 
The county committees send representatives to the state central committees (such as the California Republican Party), and the states in turn send representatives to the National Republican Party. 

So, everything is driven from county activism.  Each county is divided into multiple “precincts”.  The number of members holding seats in each county central committee from each precinct is determined by the population of registered Republican voters within each precinct.

Specific example:   My wife and I just got elected (unanimously) to our County Republican Party Central Committee so we can advance the cause of Ron Paul.  There were 5 available seats in our precinct, and we took 2 of those seats.  We had to walk around our precinct, meet our neighbors, and gather signatures in order to qualify.  We became members through unanimous vote.  (Not very many people want to do it, so we had no challengers!)  We are joining several other Ron Paul supporters on our central committee, and we are bringing more with us.

 Many county central committees across the U.S. are being taken over by Ron Paul supporters!  We hope to do that here, and the next county to us already is ruled by Ron Paul supporters.  A few state parties are now also ruled by Ron Paul supporters, most notably Alaska and Nevada.  The libertarian movement within the Republican Party is growing very quickly.  Libertarians could become the largest faction by the 2016 elections.

 Good news!  My wife and I just received confirmation from the Republican Party that we will be delegates to the National Republican Convention in Florida in August!  So we will be there on the convention floor as history is made for Ron Paul.  I don’t know what will come out of it, but we will do whatever we can.

 But, as you say, we certainly live in interesting times!  I am concerned for the innocent people who just want to live free and prosper, but who may have to endure much economic hardship from worthless monopoly fiat currency and from arbitrary legislation that prohibits them from starting businesses and competing with insiders and politicians.
